村上 綾「象牙、雪、生成り」

今回の制作プロセスは、今までよりもいっそう「色」そのものに着目したいという試みから始まりました。「すがた」「かたち」から遠のき、解き放たれようとする薄らいだイメージは、見る人のおぼろげな記憶にたより寄り添って、かわらずその場で、ただ静かに留まり続けることができるのか。また、それら一つ一つの作品の色合いが、呼応し響き合うようすを見受けることができるのか。このような意図のもと制作した新作、それに関連する作品を発表します。

Aya Murakami: Ivory, Snow, Ecru

The process I have adopted for these works began with my wanting to focus on “colour” itself more than I have ever done until now. As “shape” and “appearance” fade away, and these liberated evanescent images draw closer to the indistinct memories of the viewer, is it possible that they can remain there in quiet unchanging continuity? Is it also possible to perceive each colour within these works, responding to and reverberating with one another? I will present new works relating to such inquiries, and created with such intentions.
